Sorry my last post is kind of unorganized and chaotic....I somehow have a different format on here to upload pics, and it isn't very user friendly. I will have to re-organize, and some of those pics were not what I had intended-please forgive me. I will post some new pics soon, but today I am feeling tired, hot and nauseous, so I am going to update everyone on Bryce, and go rest before making dinner. :) :) :)
So, Friday morning Jeff, Bryce and I (Brady stayed at home with my mom) arrived at the hospital at 6:30 am. It was early!!! Let me throw in here that when we woke Bryce up that morning, his right eye was swollen shut!!! Seriously, poor kid. Apparently, he got attacked by mosquitos the night before and he reacted to the bite. I am convinced he is allergic to mosquitos because he gets welts where bitten, and now his swollen eye convinced me of that. Anyways, I feared they may not do his surgery, but off we went to the hossy. Bryce thought it was so cool hanging with mom and dad, and he had NO clue what was going on. They brought us back into pre-op and got us settled in. The nurse took his vitals, etc etc. Another funny note here............she was looking at Bryce's eye, and she politely (but cautiously) asks, "are his cheeks swollen too?" LOL-Jeff and I laughed and just said-nope! He has big ol' cheekers. I thought that was cute. Anyways, the anestetiologist came in and talked to us, and we all decided that a little Versed may make the seperation from us a little less traumatic, so she ordered him a dose of that wonder drug. Because it was such a short procedure (20 min in and out), they didn't give him a full-dose of the Versed. So, he didn't seem to effected by the Versed, but about 15 minutes later they took him from us, and he barely cried.
Jeff and I went to the waiting room, and about 20 minutes later the surgeon came out and all went well. Jeff and I were called back to recovery, and I could hear my poor baby just a cryin' Supposodly, this is very common for kids to wake up very upset from surgery. So, between Bryce's swollen eye, and being groggy from the medicine, he could barely see. I took him, and rocked him, and he finally downed his sippy cup of milk. We were in recovery for about 30 minutes, and then we were on our way home. By the time we got home Bryce was calming down and much more alert. We came in, and made a huge breakfast, and little champ ate a ton of pancakes and turkey-ham. Shortly thereafter, you would have never known he had surgery. He was running around like his normal crazy self, causing trouble. He did go down for his nap at 11:30 though and sleep for 4 hours. It was nice!!!
Surgery was a success and he is doing great. I never questioned whether or not he had difficulty hearing, but now that he has had tubes I am convinced he did. The last two days he has repeated multiple words to me (noodle, no, Hi-mom) etc etc. It is great. Here is to (hopefully) no more ear infections!!!!!

Sounds like he is allergic to mosquitos...Grayce is the same way with ants...freaked us out the first time she reacted at 4 months! Keep benadryl on hand and just automatically give him some before bed if he has been outside around them. Glad the surgery went well! Yay! for no more ear infections!
