Christmas, already?

Is it just me, or does it seem like everyone is gearing up for Christmas super-duper early this year?  Don't get me wrong- I LOVE Christmas time.  I am also very anxious to begin listening to Christmas tunes, decorating the house, visiting Santa, making cookies etc, but this year it just seems so early.  There are houses everywhere with lights on already, Santa is already at the mall, and radio stations are already playing carols.  Why?  We haven't even had our first snowfall yet, in fact-our leaves are still falling.

We will be putting up our tree the day after Thanksgiving, and I am stoked that this is the first year we have a house we can decorate the yard and outside for the holidays.  This year we are starting our very own traditions, therefore-Christmas Eve from here on out is spent in our house.  We figure that Brady is old enough now, and we want him to wake up in his house on Christmas Morning-after all, that is how both Jeff and I remember Christmas.  Anyone who wants to visit, is more then welcome-but this is where we will be.  I am very much looking forward to making Christmas memorable for us and especially Brady.  I am already talking about elves watching him, and making a list to mail to Santa and so forth.  How magical this time of year is for children.  As a parent, it is nice to see Christmas become magical again through your child's eyes.

It will be a busy month coming up as we have not ONE present bought yet, and not a decoration put up-but rest be assured, it will all be done soon enough.  The snow should be falling, and fire's burning in our fireplace.  Oh-what a special time of year (even if it has an early start this year)!  I hope you all enjoy this time of year as well.

Oh yeah...check out the link to my little elves (are they not the cutest ever?).
